The origins...
My name is Iker, I am originally from Pamplona, Spain but
moved to the US at 11 years old. I lived in the Bay Area
until after my Sophomore year at Bellarmine
when I moved to Houston and finished High School at Strake Jesuit.
I then returned to the Bay Area to attend Santa Clara University
and have been here ever since.
Why Coding?
I have always been really interested in languages and cultures, and I saw coding through the same lense. Learning to code is learning the language of the computer and use it solve puzzles and create new things. In order to solve more challenging problems we need to dive deeper into the culture of the computer and learn its history and how it works.
Non-Technical Jobs
Since childhood, my parents have always taught me the value of hard work. Every winter when school ended,
we flew to Mexico to work in the family shoe business. Moving to Houston, one of those stores was nearby,
so I worked there. Then in college, I worked at an Escape Room for a while but had to quit due to scheduling issues.
I work as an Uber Eats driver and became a Volleyball Coach at one of the most well known clubs in the nation, Bay To Bay Volleyball Club.
Hobbies
I have always had a passion for learning new things. This has lead me to
many, very random skills. Out of all, however, my favorite activities are playing
sports (Volleyball, Soccer, or Padel), instruments (Guitar, Ukelele, or Piano), drawing,
or exploring new places. Whatever I do, I enjoy it most when surronded by friends or family.
